Program Overview

  Vitreoretinal specialists are faced with varying challenges, including the implementation of new diagnostic and treatment modalities. The goal of this exciting and fast-paced course is to present the most recent advances in the field, while exploring methods of their rational integration into everyday clinical practice.

A renowned faculty has been selected to present this information in both formal lectures and informal discussions. In a relaxed setting, faculty and attendees will discuss specific cases, new therapy and imaging techniques and the latest surgical strategies.

Educational Objectives  
At the conclusion of this activity, attendees should be able to:  
  • Describe the pathogenesis and treatment of dry age-related macular degeneration; provide insights on nutritional therapy, imaging techniques, and new medications.
  • Discuss the use of anti-VEGF agents, as well as optimal dosing strategies,
    for the treatment of choroidal neovascularization in wet age-related macular degeneration.
  • Explain the results of new multicenter trials for the treatment of retinal
    venous occlusion and how to apply the results to patient care.
  • Discuss a review of the latest developments in vitreoretinal surgery technology and how this technology may improve patient outcomes.
  • Identify treatment approaches for retinal inflammatory disorders and posterior uveitis and patients for who these treatments would be beneficial.
